Learn acting skills with industry pro’s for only $25 in 2013

Gandalf Ian McKellenTo be able to act like Sir Ian McKellen takes a lifetime, but one of the best places to start or for a young actor to hone skills is at the Western Australian Youth Theatre Company.

With a $25 membership, actors can audition to be in major theatre productions at professional venues in Perth with industry professionals both emerging and established. Members can also enrol in our Actors Studio and Actors Boot Camp for almost half price, and are able to get access to our Acting Basics and Ensemble Acting courses on Sundays during term times in central Perth.

2013 will be a fantastic year for WAYTCo. We have a new play by Lally Katz in June at the Dolphin Theatre on the campus of the University of Western Australia and a production towards the end of the year at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre.

Actors StudioProfessional tutors will be delivering a series of masterclasses on lots of different acting and performance techniques with our Actors Studio, and for those of you who wish to experience the discipline, intensity and rigor of a full-on acting school we have Actors Boot Camp – a 5-day intensive for student actors in July and October.

For student actors who want to get regular training in the core skills of stage performance, why not enrol in our Sunday acting classes? With regular tutoring your voice, body will improve and expand. Your expressive capacity and emotional range will be stretched and you will enjoy practicing your skills with a group of young and creative performers.

  1. Aw c’mon, is it so hard to be Gandalf? Glue on a false beard, look tall, say the lines and don’t trip over the dwarves.

A little training at WAYTC and any of us could do it.

    All the best for 2013!
